FLYING PIG 'EARLY REGISTRATION' PRICE CUT ENDS JANUARY 31
CINCINNATI (January 31)The deadline for W-2 tax forms isn't the only deadline coming up on Wednesday, January 31. It is also the last day to sign up for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon before registration prices increase.
Entries made on line or postmarked by midnight January 31get the lowest price of $60 for full marathon signup. Similar price breaks are available through January 31 for the other Marathon events.
"Registrations are pacing ahead of last year for the weekend of events," said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director. "By signing up now, participants not only enjoy the lowest prices available, they assure themselves of getting into the event they want."
To register on line for the Flying Pig Marathon, go to www.flyingpigmarathon.com and click on the "Registration"' link at the top of the home page.
A record crowd of more than 15,000 participants signed up in 2006 for the weekend of events. The men's full marathon winner was Cecil Franke, in an event-record time of 2:20:25, and the women's winner was Norah Shire, in 2:56:19.
The 9th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon weekend will be Friday, May 4, through Sunday, May 6. Events include the National City Expo and Expo-Tique on Friday and Saturday, the Toyota 10K, the 5K and Piglet presented by First Watch on Saturday, and the Marathon, Half Marathon presented by National City and Ernst and Young relays on Sunday. Sponsors include CoActive Marketing Group, Paycor, Ernst & Young, National City, Duke Energy and Mercy Health Partners.
The Flying Pig Marathon has been named one of the top 10 "Most Fun Runs" in the world by Runner's World magazine, one of the best corporate brands by Fast Company and is listed in "The Traveling Marathoner: A Complete Guide To Top U.S. Races and Sightseeing on the Run," by Elise Allen.
