FLYING PIG MARATHON ISSUES STATEMENT
ON PASSING OF RICK PARIS

CINCINNATI - The Board and Staff of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon wish to express condolences to family and friends on the passing of Rick Paris of Centerville, Ohio, one of the participants in Sunday's Flying Pig Half Marathon presented by National City. For those who wish, contributions are being accepted for the Paris Children's Educational Fund in care of National City, 1001 East Centerville-Station Road, Centerville, Ohio, 45459.

"Rick and his family have been long-time friends of the Flying Pig Marathon," said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director. "We are saddened by his passing and know that the running community will rally around his family and his two children."

Paris collapsed at the finish line after finishing the event. Medical personnel on site worked on Paris for several minutes before he was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
