Walkers to "Blow the Whistle" on Asthma

Cincinnati, Ohio (November 7, 2005) - The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon is partnering with the American Lung Association of Ohio to welcome the annual "Blow the Whistle on Asthma" 5K fundraiser as part of the Flying Pig Marathon weekend, May 5-7, 2006.

"The Flying Pig Marathon works with more than 70 charities and non-profits each year to help them raise money for their causes," said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director. "We are thrilled to have the American Lung Association of Ohio join our Saturday 5K."

"Blow the Whistle on Asthma" is the largest and fastest growing fundraising event in the history of the American Lung Association of Ohio. Ohioans have raised more than $300,000 since the Blow the Whistle on Asthma Walks were first held in 2002. All proceeds from the walk go directly to the American Lung Association to aid in the fight against asthma and other lung diseases through education, community service, advocacy and research.

Those who want to participate in the Flying Pig Marathon 5K on behalf of the American Lung Association of Ohio will designate their participation on the 5K entry form. Registration for the 5K and other Saturday events, including the Flying Pig 10K and the Flying Piglet Fun Run and Family Festival, will open soon.

Registration is open now, on line and by mail, for the 8th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, to be held Sunday, May 7, 2005. Presenting sponsors are CoActive Marketing Group, Corporate Express, Ernst & Young, Mercy Health Partners, National City and Paycor.
