The Pig Goes Green Again
In 2013 the Flying Pig Marathon continues its efforts to be a sustainable event and will submit documentation to be recertified as a green event by the Council for Responsible Sport. To be certified, the marathon must meet at least 30 standards from nine categories: Waste, Climate & Energy, Procurement & Sourcing, Community Impact, Healthy Lifestyle, Community Involvement, Inclusion, Expo and Innovation. In the upcoming Squeals, we will report on these categories and new sustainable initiatives planned for the 2013 event. Help the Pig "Go Green" by recycling and composting wherever you see the marked bins during Pig Weekend!
