A 'Tide' of Donations

Ever wonder what happened to all those discarded clothes in the first mile or two of the Marathon? This year Tide is helping keep the Pig green and community-conscious by providing Tide bins along the beginning of the course. Toss your old sweatshirts and t-shirts in the bins as you go by, or volunteers will pick them up for you, then Tide will launder them and donate them to shelters in the Greater Cincinnati area. Thanks to Tide for helping keep the course green and clean, while helping the community!

Calling All Volunteers!

Volunteers are still needed for all aspects of the Flying Pig Marathon. If you're coming down to cheer on a loved one, donate a couple of hours to help the Pig run smoothly! A convenient volunteer form is on the website. Go to www.flyingpigmarathon.com and click on the "Volunteer the Easy Way" button. You can't train for the Pig without the latest in Pig workout gear! Go to our e-store and check out the technical Training For 2008 shirts from Asics, made especially to celebrate the Pig's 10th anniversary. They're available in men's and women's sizes, short and long sleeves.

Make your reservations now for the "Pig Out" Pasta Party Saturday night, to be held at beautiful Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. Two seatings are available, at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are available on line, or (if any are left) at the Flying Pig Health and Fitness Expo presented by National City at the Duke Energy Center.

While we're on the subject of food: Breakfast once again will be available at the "Swine Line" VIP tent the morning of the Marathon. Your loved ones can relax and wait for your triumphal finish at the "Swine Line" with a bagel and coffee. Look for the signs near the finish for the VIP breakfast tent.
