Pig Points
Yogi Berra is quoted as saying, "Ninety
percent of baseball is mental, the other half
is physical." Yogi may not get fractions, but
he gets how important the mental part of
sports is. Dr. Barbara Walker, a sports
psychologist, has these tips to get your
brain working with your body to accomplish
your Marathon goals: Focusing on your own
performance is the only thing you can
control. Improving against your past
performance rather than comparing yourself
against an opponent can bring satisfaction.
If you set your goals effectively, and follow
through with the goals you set, the outcome
goals of winning will take care of itself.
Check Out the Course
For those of you who live in the Greater
Cincinnati area, the course is now officially
marked. You can click
here to find the turn-by-turn
description, then go along the route and
follow the pink paint to the finish line!
The Greening 'o the Pig
More than 4,000 trees will be planted in
Cincinnati parks to help offset the 'carbon
footprint' of the Flying Pig Marathon. With
the help of Natorp's landscapers and the
Cincinnati Park Board, the Pig will be
greener this year than ever before. Make sure
you recycle during Marathon weekend and help
keep the Pig green!
