10th Annual Flying Pig Marathon

11 Days until Flying Pig Marathon Weekend!
Flying Pig Marathon Greetings!

Welcome to Day 16 of our daily e-mail blasts to help you prepare for the 10th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon events.

Here's one of the many inspirational stories we're receiving from Flying Pig Marathon participants this year, this from David LaFleche: "My nephew Matthew Drake was nearly killed in Iraq on Oct. 15 2003. His courageous and miraculous fight to stay alive and to regain what he can of his life has given me the inspiration and determination to run my first half marathon (a dream since my cross country days in high school.) I'll have a temporary tattoo of him on my arm and we'll "run" the race together. We ran the last time I saw him before he deployed so this is how we'll run together again." What is your Pig story? Email us at media@flyingpigmarathon.com along with your contact information.

Pig Points

The votes are in and the runners have spoken! What song will get you going at the start line of Sunday's Marathon events? You'll find out Marathon morning, but we can tell you that only two votes separated the first-place vote getter and the runner-up. So yes, every vote counts! Hear the winning song at the start line Sunday morning.

The Pig Flies on Friday

Come early to Cincinnati for Flying Pig Marathon weekend and join us for the Fountain Square Flying Pig celebration on Friday evening, May 2nd. There'll be fireworks and yes, pigs will fly downtown! The fireworks and 'flying pigs' will be free and open to the public, so come downtown and watch pigs fly!

The Greening 'o the Pig

Did you know that in this decade, it's estimated that Americans will throw away more than a million tons of aluminum cans and foil, and more than 11 million tons of glass bottles, according to Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. Almost all can be recycled! Join the Flying Pig Marathon and 'go green' not just at the Marathon, but all year 'round.

Cincinnati USA puts the fun in the run!

Come early, stay late in Cincinnati USA. Catch a Reds game, visit Kings Island or go to the Cincinnati Zoo. Book your visit and buy tickets at www.CincinnatiUSA.com.
