The Flying Pig Marathon is often a celebration in itself for many of its participants. Here's one example from Sagette Gilbert:

I just turn 50 this month. What a better way to celebrate then to run a marathon! I chose the Flying Pig Marathon because I've heard that it was a very fun marathon to run. My husband will also be running the marathon. This will be my third Marathon and my husband his sixth. This will be our first Flying Pig Marathon.We just had a race recently in the Florida Keys, and we had the pleasure to meet with one of the Flying Pig Strikers Jim Devanney. It was very exciting to be able to talk to someone who is running his tenth Flying pig marathon. We are looking forward to see him again at the race.

This reminder: registration and packet pickup for the Toyota 10K, Fleet Feet Sports 5K, Kids' Marathon One Mile, and Flying Piglet Kids' Fun Run will be at the National City Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, May 2, 2008 and on Saturday, May 3, 2008 beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Yeatman's Cove for the Toyota 10K, 7:30 a.m. for the Pump N' Run 5K, and at 9:00 a.m. for the Fleet Feet Sports 5K and Flying Piglet Fun Run.

Coming in for the Road Runners Club of America's 50th Convention? Welcome to Cincinnati! We hope you enjoy your stay. In between your meetings, make sure you are there for the welcoming ceremony on Friday at 8 a.m. City officials, Flying Pig Marathon representatives and some of the most popular mascots in town will be there to welcome you!

The Greening 'o the Pig

Are you driving into Cincinnati for the Pig? Check your local running clubs to see if anyone else in your group or area is coming in for the Pig as well. With the most recent jump in gasoline prices, it could save money, as well as fuel, if you can find someone to share the ride. There are all kinds of ways you can help to keep the Pig "green."
