Registration Policies
Please read carefully before registering for any event(s).
  1. Wheelchair entrants must wear helmets at all times. Due to logistical and safety issues we are not currently able to accommodate hand crank chairs.
  2. No refunds or transfers.
  3. Participants unable to participate may pick up their runner packet and turn in their timing chip. Or they may have someone else pick up their packet for them.
  4. Participants unable to pick up their own race packet may have someone else pick up their packet for them. Fill out the Packet Pick-up Authorization Form and give it to the person picking up your packet. They will take the completed form and a copy of your photo ID to the expo and give it to the volunteer handing out race packets.
  5. Participants may switch races. Changes may be done at packet pick-up at the Expo. There is a $10 fee to do so, along with any applicable entry fee difference. At Packet Pick-up, pick up the packet for the race which you registered and take it to the Solutions Desk to make the change.
  6. Participants may switch races. They must notify the Flying Pig office of their request with the Switching Request Form by April 15, 2012. After that date switches may be done at packet pick-up at the Expo. There is a $10 fee to do so, along with any applicable entry fee difference.
  7. Substituting Relay Team Member. If you need to substitute a participant on your relay team, have the substitute complete the Switching Relay Participant Request Form and mail to the Flying Pig office by April 15, 2012. After that date substitutions may be done at packet pick-up at the Expo. There is a $10 fee to make the substitution.
  8. Participants must be 18 years of age on race day to participate in the full marathon, 14 years of age for the half marathon or relay, and 12 years of age to participate in the 10K.
  9. Failure to return timing chip will result in a $35 replacement fee, due no later than 30 days after the event.
The LORD'S GYM Pump N' Run (PNR) Cross Training Events.

The PUMP N' RUN (PNR) is an optional "Full Fitness Competition", offered to all 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon participants. The participant will have the exact same running experience as their race peers, but will now be able to compete for additional awards, which uniquely combine running ability and weight lifting skill. To register for the PNR Option, first register for the desired running race with the Flying Pig Marathon (5K, 10K, Half or Full Marathon), then go to www.pumpandrunrace.com and register for the PNR Option for that same running race.

PNR pre-race weight lifting is Friday at the Duke Energy Center from Noon to 2:00PM and 5:00PM to 8:00 p.m. for all race divisions (5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon). On Saturday at Sawyer Point, weight lifting times are 7:30AM to 9:15AM for the 5K-only. Also, on Saturday at Duke Energy Center, weight lifting is from 2:30PM to 4:30PM for the Half and Full Marathon participants.

Entry fees are non-refundable; race numbers and entries cannot be transferred to another year or person. No exceptions. This means once we have received your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, or if the event is cancelled because of weather, natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances.
