2008 Flying Pig Half Marathon Mile Marks updated 03/07/08
Start: 62'8" west of west edge of 4th light pole west of Elm and Mehring Way on the north side of Mehring Way opposite flag pole in Paul Brown Stadium.
1 mile: 126'5" north of north edge of support beam holding "Welcome to Kentucky" sign that you approach from Cincinnati heading into Kentucky.
2 mile: 89'6" east of light pole #25 on the Memorial Bridge between Newport and Covington. Light pole is at the end of the fenced walking on the floodwall.
3 mile: 21'9" south of the point where the first vertical support beam on the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge intersects with the top of the cement wall. Beam is the first on the east that you meet going north on the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge.
4 mile: 81"9" east/south of the south edge of the fire hydrant just east of W 5th and Linn Street intersection on Linn St.
5 mile: 50"4" west of western most edge line of western crosswalk line on 7th St. between Plum and Elm.
6 mile: 23'1" north of light pole #1 which is the first light pole north of the I-71 entrance ramp going north on Gilbert.
7 mile: 9'4" southwest of light pole which is at the north end of the stone wall on the northwest side of Eden Park Drive halfway up to Martin Drive.
8 mile: 24'11" south of light pole #20 which is the first light pole on Victory Parkway just north of intersection of Victory Parkway and Cypress St. Pole is on south side of street.
Meeting point for half marathon work: northwest edge of telephone manhole cover south of Clayton/Woodburn sign on corner.
9 mile: 23'2" southeast of eastern most corner of playground fence on Martin Luther King which is northwest of the intersection of Martin Luther King and Victory Parkway. Also, across the street from Chapel Arms apartments.
15K: 22'3" west of light pole #2M which is the first light pole east of intersection of Martin Luther King and Gilbert. Light pole is on south side of Martin Luther King.
10 mile: 20'7" north of north edge of light pole #P872 which is second light pole south of Curtis Street on the eastern side of Gilbert.
11 mile: 5'9" east of expansion joint on Elsinor which is in line with 5th green fence pole on overpass coming from Reading along south side of street.
Turn Around on Central Parkway just west of Walnut: mark is 27'8" west of fire hydrant on Central Parkway on north side of street. Fire hydrant is just west of the intersection of Central Parkway and Walnut. Also, 2'11" east of east edge of door at 30 Central Parkway.
12 mile: 8'9" east of light pole on Central Parkway in front of the Court House. Light pole is the 2nd light pole west, including pole at corner, of the intersection of Central Parkway and Sycamore. Mark is on south side of street.
13 mile: 14'3" east of the bus stop pole with street light at top on south side of Pete Rose Way west of the intersection of Pete Rose Way and Mehring Way.
Finish: West edge of pillar with Southbank Shuttle sign on it. Use the eastern most of the two pillars with Southbank Shuttle on it. Pillar is on the south side of Pete Rose Way between Old Broadway and New Broadway.
