Weekend Events
Welcome to the 9th annual running of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. Be among the 15,000 participants who will participate this first-class race that winds through the scenic heart of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky communities. Flying Pig Marathon Event
Held on Sunday, May 3, 2009, this event is a 26.2-mile road race certified by USA Track & Field and sanctioned by RRCA. This marathon may be used as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. The event will begin at 6:30 a.m. in downtown Cincinnati.
Flying Pig Half Marathon Event
The half marathon (13.1 miles) will start at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the same time as the full marathon field. The two groups will run together for approximately nine miles, when the half marathon field will turn back toward downtown and end at the Marathon finish line along Yeatman's Cove.
Ernst & Young 4-Person Relay Event
Fly through the course by joining co-workers, friends or family to participate in the Ernst & Young 4-Person Relay Event presented by Business Courier. Each relay will consist of 4 persons, all being at least 14 years of age on race day. The Corporate Express Corporate Challenge is currently available, and includes many sponsorship benefits. All Relay team members will receive the same amenities as full marathon runners, but the items will be distinctively different and geared specifically for the Relay Event.
Wheelchair Event
Welcome wheelchair athletes! The event will be conducted under Wheelchair Athletics of the USA rules. For more information on this event, please call (513) 721-PIGS (7447). The Wheelchair Event will begin at 5:55 a.m.
Toyota 10K Race
The Toyota 10K Race will feature increased support with dedicated water stops, mile markers, course monitors, and finisher medals. The race will start on Mehring Way, Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 8:00 a.m.
Flying Piglet Kids' Fun Run & Festival
The Flying Piglet Kids' Fun Run and Festival, presented by The Cincinnati Enquirer, will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009. The event is a fun run open to all children ages 12 and under. Distances are short sprints and will vary depending upon age of the child.
Fleet Feet Sports 5K for a Cause and Fun Festival
The Fleet Feet Sports 5K and Fun Festival is on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Yeatman's Cove, on Cincinnati's riverfront. Once again we welcome our area non-profits and charity groups in a number of division within the event, including The Lord's Gym PUMP N' RUN (running and bench press combination). New for 2007 is the "Hope and Possibilities" division, including participants of all athletic abilities.
National City Health & Fitness Expo and Expo-tique
Visit the National City Health & Fitness Expo to purchase Official Flying Pig Marathon merchandise or to attend our Marathon Training Clinics presented by Runner's World magazine. The Expo, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009 from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Duke Energy Center, 525 Elm Street, Cincinnati, Ohio. Packet pickup and late registration will also be at the Expo. Many vendors will be demonstrating and selling their products. All registrants must attend to pickup their race bib, Pasta Party tickets, ChampionChip© and race "goodies". These items will not be available on race day.
Pasta Dinner
The Flying Pig Marathon will host a carbo-loading dinner on Saturday, May 2, 2009. You can find more information here.
Post Race Party
The Flying Pig Marathon will host a post-race party. This party will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the finish line on race day, Sunday, May 3, 2009.
